Taking this course will provide an excellent review of exam requirements and prepare the attendee, in large part, to challenge the API 653 exam (Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector).
Certification, as an inspector to various API programs is done directly by API. The exam can be taken on-line.

JOHN AUMULLER, Ph. D.
Mechanical Engineer
Extensive and deep experience in execution of refinery, oil sands, heavy oil, power & petrochemical plant projects as project manager & engineer and as mechanical engineering specialist / subject matter expert in troubleshooting and operational support of piping & pressure equipment, fired heaters, steam generation (boilers), heat exchanger and atmospheric storage tank equipment. Proven record in planning and execution of turnaround, maintenance & plant mechanical engineering projects. Technical expertise includes fitness for service (FFS) and remaining life assessments using ASME FFS / API 579. Experienced in use of Triflex & CAESAR II piping analysis software, PVElite, COMPRESS & CODECALC pressure vessel design software, SOLIDWORKS / COSMOSM finite element and AFT Fathom piping transient fluid hydraulic software. Expert knowledge of industry relevant boiler and pressure vessel Codes such as ASME Section I & VIII Div 1 & 2, B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, CSA Z662 & related standards.
Note: English will be used in all lectures and course notes.
